Finished in Pepper Silver with black Le Mans-style stripes, this Mustang captures the visual drama and cultural significance of the Eleanor legend while incorporating meaningful mechanical and cosmetic upgrades. Notably, this example further benefits from celebrity provenance, having previously been owned by Jon Bon Jovi, adding a rare layer of pop culture and collector appeal. Built as a show-quality restomod rather than a factory-correct restoration, this example offers the unmistakable presence of a Shelby-inspired Mustang with enhanced performance, braking, and drivability.

The Eleanor-style Mustang occupies a unique place in American automotive culture, cemented by its starring role in the 2000 film Gone in 60 Seconds. Portrayed as the ultimate unattainable car, “Eleanor” was not simply a prop but the emotional centerpiece of the film, blending classic 1960s Mustang fastback proportions with aggressive Shelby GT500-inspired styling. That cinematic legacy transformed Eleanor into one of the most recognizable and influential custom Mustangs ever created, sparking decades of tribute builds and elevating the design into modern pop-culture mythology.

 

While not a factory Shelby or continuation model, high-quality Eleanor builds have become collectible in their own right, valued for craftsmanship, visual impact, and emotional appeal rather than strict originality. This particular 1968 Mustang Fastback stands out further due to its previous ownership by rock star, Jon Bon Jovi. It has been comprehensively transformed with a full GT500-style Eleanor body kit, including the signature hood, front and rear fascias, side exhaust, and period-correct detailing. The Pepper Silver finish with contrasting black stripes closely mirrors the most recognizable Eleanor specification, giving the car instant curb appeal and unmistakable road presence.

Under the hood, the original 289 cubic-inch V8 has been swapped for a more potent 351 cubic-inch Cleveland V8, paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. Performance-focused upgrades such as Baer four-wheel disc brakes and a Holley carburetor significantly improve stopping power and responsiveness over a stock 1968 Mustang, while retaining a raw, analog driving experience. The side-exit exhaust not only completes the Eleanor aesthetic but also delivers the unmistakable muscle-car soundtrack that helped define the car’s on-screen persona.

Inside, the cabin features classic Mustang architecture with Shelby-inspired details, including branded seating, a wood-rim steering wheel, racing harnesses, auxiliary gauges, and a fire extinguisher. While true mileage cannot be verified due to the nature of the build, the odometer reads 691 miles at the time of documentation and reflects limited use since completion.
