Seller's Introduction

duPont REGISTRY Live presents this extraordinary 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Baldwin Motion Speedster, Serial Number 001 and the inaugural example of the modern Baldwin Motion Speedster program. Built by Resto Mod Vette Builders of Peter Brock Cars, this one-of-one prototype reimagines the legendary 1969 Camaro through the lens of European coachbuilding while paying tribute to the uncompromising performance legacy established by Joel Rosen's original Baldwin Motion supercars. More than 2,500 hours of fabrication transformed a 1969 Camaro convertible into this topless Speedster, powered by an LS3 Hot Cam V8 and engineered with thoroughly modern suspension, braking, and drivetrain technology.

Overview

Originally conceived to relaunch the iconic Baldwin Motion name in an entirely new direction, Speedster No. 001 abandons the traditional convertible layout in favor of a dramatic open-top design with no side windows, a flush-mounted windshield, and sculpted carbon fiber speedster humps flowing from the cockpit to the rear deck. The body is finished in Metallic Gray and complemented by tucked and smoothed painted bumpers, an RS-style grille with electrically operated hideaway headlights, a carbon fiber front splitter and rear spoiler, Ringbrothers mirrors and door handles, and color-matched three-piece Fiske wheels. The result is a modern interpretation of the Camaro unlike anything Chevrolet—or Baldwin Motion—produced during the original muscle car era.

The custom interior is trimmed in Douglass Products Red leather and Black suede, centered around a paint-matched dashboard housing a C6 Corvette gauge cluster. A PCS push-button transmission controller with paddle shifters, Ididit tilt steering column, Sparc steering wheel, Planet Audio touchscreen infotainment system, and Vintage Air climate control blend contemporary technology with handcrafted craftsmanship, creating a cabin that is both highly functional and unmistakably bespoke.

Power comes from a GM LS3 Hot Cam V8, paired with a 6L90E automatic transmission driving through a narrowed Ford 9-inch rear axle. The chassis benefits from RideTech coilover suspension, rack-and-pinion steering, Detroit Speed mini tubs, and Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, delivering performance and handling far beyond that of the original first-generation Camaro. Every component was selected to complement the radical coachbuilt design while maintaining the driving dynamics expected of a modern high-performance grand touring machine.

As Serial Number 001, this Baldwin Motion Speedster represents far more than a custom Camaro—it is the prototype that launched the modern Baldwin Motion Speedster program and a one-of-one expression of one of America's most celebrated performance brands. Combining over 2,500 hours of craftsmanship, bespoke coachwork, and contemporary GM performance with the heritage of the Baldwin Motion name, this remarkable build stands as one of the most distinctive reinterpretations of the 1969 Camaro ever created.
