Seller's Introduction
duPont REGISTRY Live is proud to present this 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer, a fully restored example from the highly sought-after first-generation K5 platform (1969–1972), known for its removable top design and short-wheelbase 4x4 capability. Finished in orange over a Camel Tan interior, this Blazer benefits from a comprehensive restoration and a well-executed build centered around a 383 stroker V8 and lifted stance.
Overview
Power comes from a 383 stroker small block V8, paired with a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case, delivering strong low-end torque and off-road capability. Supporting upgrades include a Holley double pumper carburetor, Doug Thorley long tube headers, and a RAB Performance serpentine belt system, along with an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans for improved cooling. The suspension features Fox shocks, complemented by a 6-inch suspension lift and 2-inch body lift, giving the truck its aggressive stance and added ground clearance. Braking is handled by power front disc and rear drum brakes.
The exterior is finished in orange paint, contrasted by a white removable hard top, highlighting the Blazer’s open-air versatility. Chrome accents include bumpers, mirrors, and door handles, while black and wood-finish body trim adds period-correct detail. Additional features include 383 badging, clear taillights and side markers, and Amp Research powered side steps. The truck rides on 17-inch Raceline Ryno beadlock wheels, completing its purposeful and off-road-ready appearance.
Inside, the cabin has been fully updated with a Camel Tan TMI interior, including front bucket seats and a rear bench, along with matching TMI dash pad, door panels, and center console. A billet steering wheel sits ahead of Classic Instruments gauges, while replacement brown carpeting enhances the finished look. Modern amenities include a Sony Bluetooth audio system supported by JL Audio amplifiers, speakers, and subwoofers, as well as Old Air Products air conditioning and heat, making the cabin comfortable and usable in a variety of conditions. The cosmetic and mechanical restoration is reported to have been finished between 2024 and 2025.
Accompanying the sale is one key. With its full restoration, upgraded drivetrain, and desirable first-generation platform, this 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer represents a strong example of an early full-size SUV built for both show and driving enjoyment.
