Seller's Introduction

This 1982 Porsche 911 SC is an early stateside RWB build constructed as a live demonstration car for the streetwear brand ILLEST at the 2017 ComplexCon convention. Finished in Slate Grey with a Superwide RWB backdate kit personally installed by the legendary Nakai San, this example combines high specification suspension and braking hardware with a fully sorted driver-focused configuration.

Overview

Originally delivered as a factory narrow-body 1982 911 SC, this particular example was transformed into a backdated 1973 RSR tribute and widened using a Rauh Welt Begriff Superwide body kit installed by Akira Nakai. Built in collaboration with the ILLEST brand for a public live build at ComplexCon in Long Beach, California, this car represents one of the earliest United States RWB conversions and highlights the cultural intersection between tuner Porsche culture and the streetwear scene.

The build includes a long nose backdate sourced through Sierra Madre Collection, a rear ducktail, and Rotiform MLW deep dish wheels that complement the aggressive widebody stance. The suspension setup was engineered for balance and drivability through modified Bilstein dampers with Von Street sealed gas inserts, 930 Turbo tie rods, hollow sway bars front and rear, solid and semi-solid bushing upgrades, and full bump steer correction. Power comes from the factory 3.0-liter flat six paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. Engine servicing included, multiple belt services between 2012 and 2017, and a Bursch header system with a central M and K stainless muffler for improved exhaust flow and a rich sound signature.

The interior combines modern usability and period visual style, featuring Recaro LX seats in excellent condition, a RWB steering wheel with Rothsport quick-release hub, new window seals, and Rennline pedals and sill plates. Functional air conditioning and radio make the car suitable for daily road use despite the track-focused styling.

Ownership History & Provenance

Built for the owner of ILLEST as a live RWB build demonstration at the 2017 ComplexCon convention in Long Beach, California. Recognized as one of the earliest stateside RWB builds and tied closely to streetwear and automotive culture integration. Later relocated to the East Coast before returning to California. Well sorted mechanically and visually, now offered for enthusiast ownership.

Known Shortcomings

Light rock chips on front end and on front of rear wheel arches. Small 1.5" scratch on driver side of ducktail. The front trunk lid does not have a formal latch and is only secured by the rubber straps on the exterior of the vehicle. Tires wear 2017 date codes, but show very little wear, indicating minimal usage since a large number of the mods were performed that same year. Sun visor material is loose. Headliner is stretched and loose near back of sunroof opening.
