Seller's Introduction
duPont REGISTRY Live presents this extensively restored 1985 Land Rover Defender 110, professionally reimagined by Monarch Defenders and completed in 2020. Showing approximately 8,860 miles since completion, this example combines the unmistakable character of the classic Defender with modern V8 performance, contemporary comfort, and carefully executed custom bodywork. Powered by a GM LS3 6.2-liter V8 paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, this Defender offers a compelling blend of vintage utility and modern drivability.
Overview
The foundation of the build is a comprehensive Monarch frame-off restoration, transforming the original Defender into a highly capable and thoroughly modernized 110. The exterior is finished in Matte Olive Green and enhanced by a custom wide-body kit, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a distinctive Puma-style hood. A custom front bumper with integrated LED lighting is complemented by a Warn winch, while a NAS-style rear bumper, swing-out spare tire carrier, flush-mount rear glass, and Masai running boards complete the purposeful presentation.
Inside, the cabin has been completely reimagined with custom Tan leather upholstery, matching leather door panels, and a versatile three-row seating configuration. Front and center-row captain's chairs with a center console provide individual comfort, while heated front seats and folding rear bench seats enhance usability. A wood-rim steering wheel, tilt steering column, Classic Instruments gauges, and push-button transmission shifter blend period-inspired details with modern functionality. An Alpine touchscreen infotainment system, air conditioning, and power windows further elevate the driving experience.
Power comes from a crate GM LS3 6.2-liter V8, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and a rebuilt LT230 transfer case. The upgraded drivetrain is supported by four-wheel disc brakes and an aluminum radiator, providing the performance, cooling capacity, and stopping power expected from a comprehensively modernized Defender. The result is a truck that retains the unmistakable character of the original 110 while delivering a far more refined and capable experience behind the wheel.
Completed by Monarch Defenders in 2020 and showing approximately 8,860 miles driven since the restoration, this 1985 Land Rover Defender 110 represents a distinctive interpretation of the classic British 4x4. With its LS3 V8, automatic transmission, custom wide-body styling, bespoke leather interior, and extensive frame-off restoration, it offers an engaging combination of vintage Land Rover character and modern performance. The sale includes two keys.
