Seller's Introduction

duPont REGISTRY Live proudly presents this 2001 Porsche 911 GT2 Clubsport, one of the rarest and most focused road-going Porsche models ever produced. Finished in Black over a purpose-built Clubsport interior, this 996-generation GT2 is one of approximately 70 Clubsport examples built for the world. Notably, the Clubsport Package was never offered on US-market GT2s, making this an exceptionally rare opportunity to acquire a factory-equipped example. Powered by Porsche's legendary 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged Mezger flat-six and paired with a coveted 6-speed manual transmission, this ultra-exclusive GT2 combines race-bred engineering with uncompromising performance. Factory-equipped with the desirable Clubsport Package, including Recaro bucket seats, an integrated roll cage, racing harnesses, and lightweight interior appointments, this GT2 represents one of the most collectible Mezger-powered 911s ever offered.

Overview

The 996 GT2 marked Porsche's return to producing an uncompromising, rear-wheel-drive flagship based on its championship-winning motorsport technology. Shedding the all-wheel-drive system of the 911 Turbo while retaining the race-bred Mezger engine, the GT2 delivered an experience that demanded skill while rewarding the driver with extraordinary performance. For select international markets, Porsche also offered the Clubsport Package, a factory motorsport option that further emphasized the car's track-focused character. Because the Clubsport Package was never available on U.S.-market GT2s, factory-equipped examples such as this remain among the rarest and most desirable water-cooled 911s ever built.

Finished in Black, this GT2 Clubsport presents an understated yet unmistakably purposeful appearance. Wide rear fenders, aggressive aerodynamic styling, and lightweight construction distinguish the GT2 from its Turbo counterpart, while 18-inch Turbo Twist wheels frame yellow-painted brake calipers that signal the car's immense stopping capability. Bi-Xenon headlights complete the clean, factory-correct exterior, emphasizing the timeless design of Porsche's early water-cooled flagship. The doors and rear fenders have been refinished to remove a previously applied graphic, and the rear wing was also repainted. Paint protection film has been professionally applied to the front end to help preserve the finish from road debris and stone chips.

The interior reflects the GT2 Clubsport's singular focus on driver engagement. Lightweight Recaro bucket seats provide exceptional support, complemented by racing harnesses and an integrated roll cage that underscore the model's track-oriented intent. Clubsport floor mats and tasteful carbon fiber accents add subtle refinement without compromising the purposeful character of the cabin, creating an environment equally at home on a racing circuit or a spirited mountain drive.

Power comes from Porsche's legendary 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged Mezger flat-six, mated to a precise 6-speed manual transaxle that sends power exclusively to the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential. Revered for its motorsport lineage, exceptional durability, and thrilling power delivery, the Mezger engine remains one of Porsche's most celebrated powerplants. Combined with the GT2's lightweight construction and rear-wheel-drive configuration, it delivers an intensely analog driving experience that continues to define the model's legendary status among enthusiasts.

With only approximately 70 Clubsport examples produced worldwide—and none originally delivered new to the United States with the Clubsport Package— the 2001 Porsche 911 GT2 Clubsport ranks among the rarest and most desirable modern Porsche models. Combining limited production, race-inspired factory equipment, and the iconic twin-turbocharged Mezger engine with a 6-speed manual transmission, this exceptional GT2 represents a rare opportunity to acquire one of Stuttgart's most exclusive and rewarding driver's cars.
