Seller's Introduction

Our team at duPont REGISTRY Live is proud to present this 2003 Lamborghini Murciélago, finished in Giallo Orion over a Nero Perseus and Giallo Taurus leather interior. Showing just over 44,500 miles, this example is among the most sought-after configurations of Lamborghini’s first modern V12 flagship, equipped from the factory with the increasingly rare gated 6-speed manual transmission. Documented as a factory-original manual car, this Murciélago is one of approximately 316 first-generation 6.2-liter manual coupes delivered to the United States between 2001 and 2006.
Adding to its appeal is prior ownership by Nicolas Cage, the Gone in 60 Seconds Hollywood star and noted automotive collector whose garage has included everything from Ferraris and classic muscle cars to rare Lamborghinis, making his ownership a fitting chapter in this Murciélago’s history. Recently treated to an extensive major service at Lamborghini, Las Vegas, including a clutch replacement, this Murciélago represents one of the defining analog supercars of the early 2000s.

Overview

The Murciélago arrived at a pivotal moment in Lamborghini history. Penned by Luc Donckerwolke and developed under Volkswagen Group ownership, it replaced the legendary Gandini-designed Diablo while ushering Lamborghini into a new era of engineering, quality, and global relevance. Yet despite its modernized underpinnings, the Murciélago retained the raw character that defined Lamborghini’s V12 lineage, which traces back to the Miura.

Power comes from a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V12 that produces 572 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque, paired here to the coveted factory 6-speed gated manual transmission. Lamborghini quoted a 0-60 mph time of approximately 3.8 seconds and a top speed in excess of 205 mph. Unlike later automated manual-equipped examples, the open-gate transmission transforms the driving experience, adding a level of mechanical involvement that has made factory manual Murciélagos like this one increasingly desirable among collectors and enthusiasts alike.

Finished in striking Giallo Orion, this example features the Murciélago’s signature deployable side air intakes, iconic scissor doors, dual exhaust outlets, and multi-piece Speedline Corsa alloy wheels. Inside, the cabin combines Nero Perseus leather with bold Giallo Taurus accents across the seats, dashboard, and center console. The exposed metal gated shifter remains the centerpiece of the interior, surrounded by unmistakably early-2000s Lamborghini design language.

This Murciélago also benefits from a recent major service completed by Lamborghini Las Vegas in February 2026 at approximately 44,430 miles. Work included a clutch replacement, spark plugs, fuel filter, cabin and air filters, brake pads, serpentine belt, coolant hoses, fuel pressure regulators, fluid services, and installation of an aftermarket Fabspeed exhaust system to enhance the V12's evocative sound profile. The cost of this extensive service exceeded $63,000.

As the final Lamborghini V12 flagship to pair a naturally aspirated engine with a traditional gated manual gearbox, the early Murciélago has become one of the most important modern Lamborghinis of its generation. This highly specified Giallo Orion example combines celebrity ownership history, recent servicing, and one of the most collectible configurations ever offered on the platform.
