Seller's Introduction

Our team presents one of the most important modern American supercars ever produced, a 2005 Ford GT finished in Quick Silver Metallic with the desirable factory stripe delete. Showing just 9,704 miles and supported by a clean CARFAX report documenting six owners and no accidents or damage, this example represents a carefully preserved and well-documented GT from Ford’s landmark mid-2000s halo program. Factory equipped with the Ricardo 6-speed manual and a supercharged V8, the first-gen Ford GT remains a cornerstone collectible of the modern analog era.

Overview

The first-generation Ford GT was conceived as a modern tribute to Ford’s four-time Le Mans–winning GT40 of the 1960s, created to celebrate the brand’s centennial while proving that American engineering could once again compete at the highest level of the supercar hierarchy. Built between 2005 and 2006, the gen-1 GT was developed with minimal compromise, featuring an aluminum spaceframe chassis, a mid-mounted supercharged V8, and a manual-only drivetrain at a time when many rivals were already shifting toward automation.

Power is delivered by a hand-built, all-aluminum 5.4-liter supercharged DOHC V8 producing 550 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. Paired exclusively with the Ricardo 6-speed manual transaxle, the GT is capable of a 0-60 mph time of approximately 3.5 seconds and a top speed exceeding 200 mph. The driving experience is deliberately analog, defined by heavy steering effort, a mechanical clutch, and unfiltered feedback, qualities that have only grown more desirable as modern supercars have become increasingly digital.

This particular example from 2005 has 9,704 miles on the clock and is finished in Quick Silver Metallic with the factory stripe delete, a combination that purists will immediately recognize as exceptionally rare. Of the approximately 4,038 first-generation Ford GTs produced across the 2005 and 2006 model years, Quick Silver Metallic was a 2005-only color.

Based on long-standing production research and documentation from the Ford GT enthusiast community, it is estimated that anywhere between 50 and 55 first-generation GTs were delivered in a silver hue without the over-the-body or side racing stripes, placing this car among the rarest visual configurations of the entire production run. In monotone Quick Silver, the GT’s shape takes on a markedly different character, one that recalls understated competition prototypes, rather than the more familiar red-and-white race livery most commonly associated with the model.

According to the original window sticker, this GT was delivered new with desirable factory options, including forged BBS lightweight wheels and the McIntosh audiophile sound system. CARFAX documentation confirms no reported accidents or damage, consistent mileage reporting, and ownership history centered in collector-friendly states. With its low mileage, rare stripe-delete configuration, and early-production Quick Silver finish, this Ford GT stands as a blue-chip example of the Blue Oval's modern supercar program and one of the most discreetly specified, enthusiast-driven GTs of the first generation.
