More than two decades after its introduction, the Carrera GT remains one of Porsche’s most significant performance cars, celebrated for its motorsport-derived engineering, naturally aspirated V10 and unmistakably analog character, a combination that has helped establish the Carrera GT as one of the defining analog supercars of its generation.

The Carrera GT occupies a pivotal place in Porsche's halo-car lineage, following the groundbreaking 959 and the rare 911 GT1 Straßenversion, while preceding the hybrid 918 Spyder. First shown in concept form at the 2000 Paris Motor Show, it has now passed the 25-year mark since its public debut. Hand-assembled in Leipzig, Germany, and limited to 1,270 examples, the Carrera GT pairs a carbon-fiber chassis with a naturally aspirated 5.7-liter V10 that puts out over 600 horsepower, with power going exclusively to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. 

Two-time World Rally Champion and Porsche Works Driver, Walter Röhrl played a key role in its development, while the V10's high-revving character and evocative soundtrack remain central to the Carrera GT’s enduring analog appeal.

This particular example, #969 of 1,270 Carrera GTs built, is finished in Guards Red, one of Porsche’s most celebrated shades and the rarest of the five standard-production colors. It is believed to be one of just 80 examples produced in this color worldwide, with only 42 delivered to the United States. 

The low-slung bodywork, styled by Harm Lagaay, seen here in this striking shade, is complemented by lightweight forged magnesium five-spoke center-lock wheels finished in silver, yellow-painted Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brake (PCCB) calipers, a retractable rear spoiler and removable roof panels that stow beneath the front hood. Underneath, the pushrod-actuated suspension and compact Porsche Ceramic Composite Clutch further reflect its competition-derived engineering.

Inside, the dark gray leather interior features carbon-fiber bucket seats, exposed carbon fiber, traditional five-dial instrumentation and the Carrera GT's elevated six-speed carbon-fiber shifter. The original build specification also confirms air conditioning, a high-capacity battery, the Carrera GT sound system, and Porsche Online Pro CD radio. 

The car’s documented history shows limited use from new, with mileage records remaining consistent throughout its life. Early entries record low miles, followed by fewer than 4,000 miles by the early 2010s and 5,600 miles as shown today.
