Developed as a joint venture between Mercedes-Benz and McLaren during the height of the brands’ Formula 1 partnership, the SLR McLaren was conceived as a no-compromise super grand tourer capable of combining extreme performance with everyday usability. Introduced in the early 2000s, the SLR drew inspiration from the legendary Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR race cars of the 1950s while incorporating cutting-edge materials and technology derived directly from motorsport.
