Seller's Introduction

We present to you a clean, low-mileage example of one of the purest modern-day Lamborghinis ever produced, a 2013 Gallardo LP550-2 finished in Grigio Lynx over a striking two-tone Nero Perseus and Cuoio Olympus leather interior. Showing just 9,804 miles on the odometer and retaining single-owner California history, this LP550-2 represents the final evolution of the Italian automaker’s analog V10 era before the baby Lambo model line transitioned to the Huracán.

Overview

The Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 represents a pivotal moment in the brand’s modern history, marking the Italian brand’s deliberate return to rear-wheel drive after years of all-wheel-drive dominance. Designed by Luc Donckerwolke, the Gallardo was originally conceived as a more usable, everyday supercar under Audi ownership. It was the LP550-2 that reintroduced the playful, throttle-adjustable character that defined classic Lamborghinis from the Miura through the Diablo era.

The ‘dash-two’ in the name signifies rear-wheel-drive, which is far less common compared to AWD variants, during the Gallardo's decade-long, 14,000 unit production run. Today, they occupy a special place among collectors and drivers alike, and the revival of RWD began with the 2009 LP550-2 Valentino Balboni, a limited-production homage to Lamborghini’s legendary test driver.

It proved that the Gallardo’s aluminum chassis and naturally aspirated V10 were even more rewarding without front drive shafts. The overwhelming response eventually led Lamborghini to offer rear-wheel drive as a full-production configuration, resulting in the LP550-2 Coupe and, later, a Spyder variant.

Power comes from a naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 engine that produces approximately 550 horsepower, delivering its performance through Lamborghini’s E-Gear automated manual transmission. 60 mph comes up in under four seconds, with the top speed rated at 199 mph. But crucially, without the mass and complexity of all-wheel drive, the LP550-2 offers sharper steering response, more communicative chassis balance, and a more traditional supercar driving feel.

Finished in Grigio Lynx, this particular example from 2013 presents a subtle, elegant exterior contrasted by its aggressive proportions and clear engine cover. Inside, the Nero Perseus and Cuoio Olympus diamond-stitched leather interior elevates the cabin with a distinct blend of luxury and sportiness.

With its low mileage, clean history, and rear-drive layout, this LP550-2 stands out as one of the most collectible and driver-focused Gallardo variants. With the Huracán, which followed exclusively with dual-clutch transmissions, and the current Temerario having ditched the V10 altogether in favour of a hybrid-V8, models like the LP550-2 are widely regarded as some of the most rewarding modern Lamborghinis to own, combining usability with genuine analog character that the Italian marque has since moved away from.
