Seller's Introduction
Our team presents this elusive, 1 of 99 Mercedes Maybach G650 Landaulet. Finished in a beautiful Pearl White, this example shows only 16,949 miles traveled and is being offered as a piece of the duPont Registry Exchange inventory.
Overview
The Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet, built on the W463 platform, represents the final generation of the original G-Class lineage, which originated in the late 1970s from a military specification off-road vehicle. It is one of the most exclusive and extravagant interpretations ever produced of the G-Class and occupies a unique position in Mercedes-Benz history as a symbol of ultra luxury combined with extreme all-terrain capability.
Power comes from the 6.0-liter M279 biturbo V12 that produces 621 horsepower and (1,000 newton meters) 738 pound-feet of torque, paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission and Four Wheel Drive. Acceleration is effortless and refined, supported by the use of portal axles that create exceptional ground clearance and allow the vehicle, famously equipped with three locking differentials, to navigate rugged terrain with minimal chassis disruption.
However, it is the term Landaulet that distinguishes this G650 from other G-Class models. It originates from French carriage design dating to the 18th century, referring to a closed front compartment for the driver with an open convertible section at the rear for occupants. This format or bodystyle became a hallmark of ceremonial state vehicles used by royalty and heads of state around the world. Within the Mercedes-Benz lineage, you have models such as the 600 Pullman Landaulet and, later, the Maybach 62 Landaulet from more recent times.
The G650 applies that lineage to an off-road chassis, combining a chauffeur-driven vehicle with the capability and stature of the G500 4x4 Squared. The design, as a consequence, incorporates squared wheel arches and tire clearance derived from the 4x4 Squared platform, along with towering ride height and the unmistakable stance and presence created by the aforementioned portal axle engineering.
But it’s the rear passenger cabin of the G650 Landaulet that is the highlight of this vehicle. It transforms into a lounge environment with a fully retractable soft top positioned exclusively behind the driver's compartment.
The seating configuration includes Maybach first-class recliners with heating, cooling, massage, folding tables, and integrated entertainment screens. A partition window separates the driver and rear cabin and can transition from transparent to opaque at the touch of a button for added privacy. Additional amenities include a rear console refrigerator, champagne glasses, and control interfaces drawn from the Maybach S Class executive interior.
This particular 2018 example only has 16,949 miles on the odometer. It was imported to the United States with registration history beginning in Montana in 2022 and retains its original V12 drivetrain without modification. Finished in Designo Mystic White Pearl with exposed carbon fiber fender flares, metal skid plates, polished 22-inch star pattern wheels, a rear-mounted full-size spare, chrome accents, and power folding running boards. The interior is upholstered in diamond-stitched tan and black leather with V12 seat badging and Maybach rear architecture.
With only 99 examples produced worldwide, the G650 Landaulet remains one of the rarest vehicles ever offered by Mercedes-Benz and one of the final Maybach models fitted with a V12 internal combustion engine. Its combination of a vehicle inspired by ceremonial heritage, low production volume, portal axle engineering, and dual character open-air configuration makes it one of the most desirable and collectible Mercedes-Benz models of the modern era.
