Seller's Introduction
Our team presents a reference-grade example of one of Porsche’s most extreme road-going 911s ever built, a 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS (991.2). Finished in Guards Red over a Black and black interior with Red Alcantara, this car represents peak 991 generation. Showing 9,482 miles and supported by clean history, two documented owners, and a comprehensive CARFAX report, this GT2 RS is further distinguished by a high-spec factory configuration. This example is equipped with the Weissach Package and front axle lift system, positioning it as a serious acquisition for collectors seeking the final word in turbo-charged internal-combustion Porsche GT cars.
Overview
The 991.2-generation Porsche 911 GT2 RS sits at the absolute summit of the 911 hierarchy. Introduced as a limited-production flagship (2018-2019), it was the most powerful production 911 ever built at the time of its release and remains a defining statement of Porsche’s philosophy. Unlike the naturally aspirated GT3 and GT3 RS, the GT2 RS returned to the traditional GT2 formula, i.e., rear-wheel drive paired with turbocharging and race-derived chassis tuning, delivering supercar-level acceleration in a familiar 911 silhouette.
Power comes from a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter flat-six that produces 700 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque, routed exclusively through a 7-speed PDK transmission to the rear wheels. This configuration enabled a 0–60 mph time of approximately 2.7 seconds and a top speed in excess of 210 mph, while Nürburgring Nordschleife testing famously resulted in a 6:47.3 lap time, making it quicker around the Green Hell than Porsche’s own 918 Spyder hypercar. The GT2 RS' chassis is further supported by extensive use of lightweight carbon fiber on the hood, roof (curb weight: ~3,200 pounds), active suspension tuning, rear-axle steering, and massive carbon-ceramic brakes engineered to withstand sustained track abuse.
Now, unlike the 918 halo car, which relied on hybrid assistance to achieve 6:57 around the 'Ring, the GT2 RS achieved this performance through a purely internal-combustion setup. That distinction is now especially significant because, with the 992.2 generation ushering in electrification via Porsche’s new T-Hybrid system, and no GT2 model yet announced for the 992 platform, the 991.2 GT2 RS could very well be the final GT2 built around an uncompromised ICE drivetrain. It represents the end of an era where extreme turbocharged power, rear-wheel drive, and minimal electronic intervention defined Porsche’s most aggressive road car.
This particular 2018 Guards Red example is specified with the highly desirable Weissach Package ($31,000), identifiable by its extensive use of exposed carbon fiber, 20- and 21-inch magnesium center-lock wheels. The fixed rear wing, aggressive aero surfaces, and optional front axle lift system ($3,490) reinforce its dual capability as both a road-legal weapon and a track-focused machine. Inside, fixed-back carbon bucket seats trimmed in leather and cloth feature P1 Design tartan seat inserts, complemented by red seat belts, red center console lid, and a red-accented steering wheel, all highlighting the car’s motorsport intent.
A well-documented vehicle through CARFAX and AutoCheck shows two owners with registrations across Kentucky and Montana. The car has been properly maintained and preserved, presenting in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition. The original Guards Red paint remains intact, protected by front-end paint protection film. Included with the sale are two keys and the original red Alcantara seat inserts, further supporting its completeness and originality.
As values increasingly favor analog, top-tier internal-combustion performance cars, the 991.2 GT2 RS, like the one seen here, stands out as a cornerstone modern collectible. With its record-setting capability, limited production run (~1200 believed to be delivered to North America), and likely status as the last non-hybrid GT2, this example offers a compelling opportunity to acquire one of the most significant track-focused 911s ever produced.
