The LP580-2 variant of the Huracán was primarily engineered for driver engagement, pairing Lamborghini’s legendary naturally aspirated, high-revving 5.2-liter V10 engine that produces 610 horsepower, combines rear wheel drive and revised suspension tuning for sharper response. It continues the RWD V10 lineage established by the Gallardo, produced from 2003 to 2013, and forms part of the Huracán's production run from 2014 to 2024.

Compared to the All Wheel Drive LP610 4, the much rarer 580 2 delivers a more agile balance and a more communicative dynamic character, be it on the street or the race track, aided by reduced curb weight and recalibrated steering. The rear-drive configuration eliminates front axle hardware, saving roughly 70 pounds compared to the LP610 4, while sharpening turn-in and feedback. It retains a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and achieves a 0 to 60 mph time in the low three-second range, along with a top speed of approximately 199 mph.
