Seller's Introduction
duPont REGISTRY Live presents this 2020 McLaren Senna GTR finished in MSO Pure White over a black Alcantara interior with contrasting red accents throughout. Delivered new in January 2021, this track-only hypercar previously featured a replica Marlboro livery vinyl wrap referencing Senna’s championship-winning 1988 McLaren MP4/4. The wrap has since been removed to reveal the MSO Pure White finish beneath; the car continues to be protected by a full body paint protection film. As one of only 75 produced worldwide, chassis #45 stands out for its documented history and uncompromising track-only specification.
Overview
Named after three-time Formula 1 World Champion Ayrton Senna, the Senna sits within McLaren’s flagship Ultimate Series, with the Senna GTR representing its most extreme track-only interpretation. The GTR designation carries particular significance within the British marque’s history, most notably through the F1 GTR that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans outright in 1995. The Senna GTR carries that lineage and debuted at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, and McLaren limited production to just 75 examples worldwide.
Built around the MonoCage III carbon-fiber monocoque, the GTR carries a dry weight of 2,619 pounds, 22 pounds less than the road-going Senna despite wider bodywork and additional track hardware. Its 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 produces 814 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque, an increase of 25 horsepower over the road car. A lightweight Inconel and titanium exhaust helps reduce powertrain mass while contributing to the increased output, with power going to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transaxle.
Freed from road-car regulations and the restrictions of a specific racing category, McLaren widened the front track by 3.0 inches and the rear by 2.7 inches, lowered the car, and reshaped its carbon-fiber bodywork around circuit performance. An enlarged front splitter and additional dive planes dominate the front end, while an aggressive rear diffuser extends beyond the bumper and works with a towering carbon-fiber active rear wing mounted on swan-neck supports and framed by exaggerated endplates. The wing incorporates DRS to reduce drag on straights and also functions as an air brake. At 155 mph, the complete aerodynamic package generates approximately 2,206 pounds of downforce, around 442 pounds more than the road-going Senna.
The GTR retains the Senna’s signature dihedral doors with see-through lower sections, while polycarbonate glazing and extensive exposed carbon fiber reinforce its competition-focused construction. Mechanical grip comes from 19-inch staggered center-lock multispoke black wheels fitted with racing slicks, backed by slotted carbon-ceramic brakes capable of generating deceleration forces exceeding 3g.
The suspension replaces the road car’s hydraulically interconnected system with a competition-derived double-wishbone arrangement related to the 720S GT3, using four-way adjustable Öhlins dampers and adjustable anti-roll bars. Pneumatic air jacks support rapid wheel changes, while dual LED rain lights, tow points, rear-facing anti-collision radar, pit-to-car radio, track telemetry hardware, and external electrical kill and fire-suppression controls underline the GTR’s circuit-only brief.
Inside, GTR-branded fixed-back carbon-fiber seats trimmed in black Alcantara are paired with red six-point harnesses. A removable multifunction steering yoke, dedicated track instrumentation, integrated roll cage, fire-suppression system, and a passenger seat is also fitted. Unlike many track-only machines, the GTR retains fully functioning air conditioning, making extended track sessions more tolerable without diluting its competition-focused character.
Recent CARFAX entry records service at 3,166 miles, including a maintenance inspection, replacement of the air filter, cabin air-filter service, an oil and filter change, a safety inspection, and tire-condition and pressure checks. This track-only GTR is not intended for road use.
Hand-built in Woking, England, chassis #45 combines the Senna GTR’s extensive carbon-fiber construction with a documented recent service and a particularly complete equipment package. With only 75 built worldwide and the U.S. allocation estimated at roughly 15 to 25 examples, it represents an exceptionally scarce opportunity to acquire one of McLaren’s most focused Ultimate Series machines.
