The F8 Spider represents the latest evolution of Ferrari’s modern mid-engine V8 convertible lineage, carrying forward a tradition that reaches back through the 488 Spider, the 458 Spider, the F430 Spider, and the 360 Spider. It combines lightweight construction, balanced chassis geometry, and a twin-turbocharged 3.9-liter V8 that produces 710 horsepower and 668 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transaxle that delivers power to the rear wheels.
The engine, derived directly from the 488 Pista program, benefits from titanium con rods, a lighter crankshaft and flywheel, and reduced internal inertia for sharper response. The retractable aluminum hardtop opens or closes in about 14 seconds at low speeds, preserving rigidity while offering open-air access. Compared to the F8 Tributo coupe, the Spider adds roughly 150 pounds due to roof hardware and reinforcement, but remains exceptionally agile and communicative, with a 0 to 60 mph time of 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 211 miles per hour.
