Seller's Introduction

Our team presents a highly specified 2023 Porsche 911 Targa 4S, representing one of the last non-electrified Targa models before the arrival of Porsche’s hybrid-era transition with the 992.2 generation. Finished in a classic Guards Red over a Heritage Design interior, along with its distinctive stainless steel Targa bar, power-operated glass roof, and all-wheel-drive traction for year-round usability, it combines traditional Porsche styling cues with contemporary performance and technology, while retaining the increasingly rare 7-speed manual transmission.  With just 6,956 miles on the odometer, a clean vehicle history report, and an enthusiast-focused specification, this example represents an exceptional opportunity to acquire one of the most character-rich variants from the modern-911 lineup.

Overview

A staple in the 911 range, the Targa body style, first introduced in the late 1960s as a response to safety regulations, has evolved into one of Porsche’s most distinctive silhouettes over the past eight generations of the model. Porsche celebrated 60 years of the Targa in 2025. In the 992.1 generation, the Targa continues to feature the iconic brushed-metal roll hoop, wraparound rear glass, and fully automated roof mechanism, which opens or closes in approximately 19 seconds at the push of a button that can be operated up to speeds of 31 mph. It also marks a highpoint for the Targa as the final non-hybrid model, as the 992.2 generation features an all-new 3.6-liter unit with Porsche's T-Hybrid system.

The 992.1 Targa, like the car seen here, continues to be powered by Porsche’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter flat-six, which produces 443 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque. Paired here with the increasingly rare 7-speed manual transmission and in 4S-guise with Porsche’s rear-biased all-wheel-drive system, this open-top Porsche delivers confident traction, strong real-world performance, and an engaging analog driving experience. 0-60 mph is done away with in 3.0 seconds ( when equipped with the Sport Chrono Package present on this build), whereas top speed is an impressive 188 mph. The S also signifies more power compared to the standard Targa 4. The factory all-wheel-drive system enhances stability in varying conditions while preserving the rear-engine character that defines the 911. Cargo areas, upfront and rear, along with two more seats in the rear, further enhance the car's usability.

This particular example is finished in Guards Red, a timeless Porsche color, and is further elevated by the optional Heritage Design Package ($15,150). Inside, the cabin features brown leather paired with black and white houndstooth inserts in the seats, doors, and a direct visual link to classic Porsche interiors of the 1960s and 1970s. It is worth noting that this is also the final Targa model to feature the analog central tach in the instrument cluster and the Le Mans-style starter knob, as the 992.2 Targa features an all-digital instrument panel and a generic starter button. Additional equipment includes the Sport Design Package ($4,890), Sport Seats Plus, extended leather trim, a heated GT Sport steering wheel, Exclusive Design 20- and 21-inch Fuchs-style wheels, and a front axle lift system ($2,770) for improved everyday usability. Total factory options add up to about ~$27k.

According to the CARFAX report, this Targa 4S has had two owners since new, with initial ownership in Georgia in 2022 followed by registration in Florida in 2023. No accidents or damage are reported, and there is no evidence of prior racing or track use. With under 7,000 miles and no known body or paintwork, the car presents as a clean, well-kept example of one of the most emotionally resonant modern 911 variants available today.
