One of only three Saleen S7 LM conversions completed from seven hand-selected donor cars, this exceptionally rare American hypercar represents the ultimate evolution of Steve Saleen's groundbreaking S7. Inspired by the marque's Le Mans racing program and upgraded with a twin-turbocharged V8 producing over 1,000 horsepower, race-derived aerodynamic enhancements, and numerous chassis improvements, LM-004 shows just 168 miles. Previously part of the renowned SFX Collection, it presents as a rare opportunity to acquire one of the most significant mid-engined American exotics ever built.

Introduced in 2000, the Saleen S7 marked Steve Saleen's first clean-sheet production car after decades of transforming Ford performance models into world-class machines. Built around a lightweight carbon-fiber body and purpose-engineered chassis, the mid-engined hypercar was designed to challenge Europe's finest exotics. Originally powered by a naturally aspirated 7.0-liter V8, the S7 gained twin turbocharging in 2005, laying the groundwork for the extreme performance of the later S7 LM. Fewer than 100 examples, including road cars, racing variants, and special editions, were ultimately produced.

 

In 2017, Saleen announced plans to commemorate the achievements of the S7-R race car by transforming seven carefully selected S7s into Le Mans specification. Known as the S7 LM, the conversion introduced substantially increased performance together with a comprehensive aerodynamic package inspired by the company's highly successful endurance racing program. Although seven donor cars were designated, only three S7 LM conversions were ultimately completed, making this particular example one of the rarest Saleens ever built. 

 

Power comes from a 7.0-liter twin-turbocharged Saleen-built V8 based on the Ford Windsor architecture. Fitted with larger turbochargers, the engine produces 1,000 horsepower on premium pump gas and up to a claimed 1,300 horsepower with the appropriate calibration and racing fuel. A six-speed manual transaxle with a limited-slip differential sends power exclusively to the rear wheels, allowing for a claimed top speed exceeding 240 mph.

 

The LM conversion also introduced a more aggressive aerodynamic package. An adjustable biplane rear wing, race-inspired side skirts, an enclosed underbody, an aggressive diffuser, and revised bodywork improve high-speed stability while paying direct tribute to the S7-R. Complementing the aerodynamic enhancements are revised double-wishbone suspension components, six-piston monoblock brake calipers, staggered five-spoke center-lock alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, and the S7's signature butterfly doors.

 

Inside, the cockpit combines competition-focused functionality with handcrafted finishes. Le Mans Edition Sparco racing seats, trimmed in black leather and Alcantara, feature silver-embroidered logos. A yellow center stripe on the suede steering wheel and the seats provides a subtle contrast against the otherwise monochromatic cabin. Combining race-derived engineering with extraordinary rarity in an uncompromising street-legal package, the S7 LM represents the definitive evolution of Steve Saleen's vision and one of the most significant American hypercars of the modern era.
